Dubai - The Ministry of Education has announced plans to work on a new programme to promote science among young students, in line with the recent announcement at The Government Summit to push innovation in schools.
Microsoft to host education forum in Dubai For the first time, Microsoft will host its Education Global Forum in Dubai. The two-day event will bring together education stakeholders to renew discussions on building better classroom experiences. Sessions at the forum will focus on innovative practices using technologies while highlighting achievements of teachers and schools. Anthony Salcito, vice-president, Worldwide Education, Microsoft, who will deliver the opening keynote, said, “The forum will explore the transformation of education, considering the roles of industry trends such as mobility, cloud, access and learning analytics in solving key challenges.” The forum will be hosted on February 22-23 at Grand Hyatt, Dubai. muaz@khaleejtimes.com |
The ministry hopes to develop a generation of scientists, creators and innovators as part of its new plan, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, said at a Press conference on Wednesday.
He was speaking on the sidelines of an announcement highlighting details of this year’s Global Education Supplies and Solutions (Gess) and Global Education Forum (GEF).
“The great thing about Gess Dubai is that it brings all of the leading education companies together, so it means that educationalists can attend the event and see, touch and talk to these companies and find out which one is best suited for their institution,” said Sharief Fahmy, CEO of F&E Group, organiser of the GEF and Gess.
The show will take place on February 24-26 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Gess and GEF are free to attend for the public, while educators visiting the show are ensured of gaining CPD credits that they can use for professional career advancement.
Additional details on the exhibition and conference agenda, as well as pre-registration information is available at www.gessdubai.com.
