Online access to improve student engagement

Senior students at Abu Dhabi schools can now access and follow their academic progress online in an endeavour to improve student engagement.

Abu Dhabi — Senior students at Abu Dhabi schools can now access and follow their academic progress online in an endeavour to improve student engagement. The newly-implemented ‘Student Assistant Module’ called Maaloumati linked with the Abu Dhabi Education Council’s (Adec) Enterprise Student Information system (eSIS) allows Grades 10, 11 and 12 from public and private schools to view their “read-only format” personal and academic information.

This project is part of Adec’s mission to help students gain direct and indirect learning skills.

The project is being carried out in phases. Phase 1 includes public school students from Grades 10, 11 and 12 and one private school, who can now access their full details online.

Adec has organised workshops for vice-principals and registrars on how to create and maintain student accounts prior to rolling out the programme. To access their account (http://maaloumati.adec.ac.ae), students have to enter their Emirates ID card and mobile numbers registered at the school.

“Through diverse and ongoing initiatives introduced by Adec, students are reminded of the fact that school is not the end of one’s educational experience, it is an important foundation and a beginning to more exposure, more experience and more learning,” said Mohammed Al Dhaheri, Adec’s School Operations executive director.
