Eight girl students of Our Own English High School, Sharjah were awarded the prestigious Shaikh Hamdan Award. Diya Mazumdar, Nithisha Nanthakumar, Jaya Mathangi, Avelyn Kishore, Kaneesha Gandhi, Hana George, Pratishruti Das and Shraddha Shetty were named winners in the category of the ‘Most Distinguished Student’.

The award ceremony was held in Shaikh Rashid Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre on April 22.
“The school focuses on the all-round development of its students and encourages them to participate in various activities. Emphasis is laid on holistic development of the students encompassing fields like academics, sports, public speaking, talent development, environmental awareness and social responsibilities such as school parliament etc,” said Asma Gilani, school principal.
