The students will be presenting ‘Newsies’, the musical, which is based on the 1992 film ‘Newsies’ produced by Disney Theatrical Production.
The musical will be staged at Our Own High School, Al Warqa’a, Dubai, on Wednesday (December 18) and Thursday (December 19) with two morning shows for school students and an evening show for parents and well-wishers on either day.
Newsies tells the captivating story of a band of underdogs who become unlikely heroes when they stand up to the most powerful men in New York. A spokesperson from the school said: “It is an inspiring tale about standing up for what is right and staying true to who you are. The production is organised under the guidance of Kevin Oliver, Cultural Coordinator, GEMS. We promise an array of performances of high-energy explosion of dance and song and an unforgettable experience.”
