There has been substantive improvement in the performance of Pakistan Embassy schools in the United Arab Emirates, which was evident in the recently announced results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC-II) Annual Examination 2014.
As many as 652 out of 803 students (81 per cent) of Pakistan Embassy schools in UAE successfully cleared the matriculation examination under the Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE).
Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School Ras Al Khaimah secured the highest passing percentage with 97 per cent success rate whereas Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School Al Ain, Abu Dhabi registered 64 per cent pass percentage, which was lowest among the Pakistani schools.
Overall, Miss. Mehwish Siraj of Pakistan School Sharjah secured first position among Pakistani schools in UAE, with 989 marks, while Syeda Sana Muhammad Ali of Pakistan Education Academy, Dubai, secured 986 marks, and Miss. Kulsoom Tariq of Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum School, Dubai, secured 969 marks.
Endeavors are being made to improve education standards of these community schools by employing modern teaching methods as well as recruitment of highly qualified teachers from within UAE and Pakistan.
