The Abu Dhabi General Services Company "Musanada" is preparing to hand over Phase II of Yas School to Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) next July, ensuring the school will be ready to receive students for the 2016-2017 academic year.
The new, Dh 167 millions school, located on Yas Island, is said to have some of the most luxurious educational facilities in the emirate. Spreading over an area of 25,000 square meters, it consists of 75 classrooms, which will accommodate 2,000 girls and boys. The school also includes academic staff offices, a library, prayer area, cafeteria, swimming pool, clinic and a multi-purpose hall.
"The building is in line with environmental sustainability requirements, as this school has successfully attained the two-pearls Estidama rating approved by Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council for buildings that contribute to enhance the efficiency of use and maintain renewable energy resources," said Eng. Saeed Mohammed Al Mehairbi, Musanada's buildings director.
State-of-the-art school buildings, in line with the latest international standards, are what ADEC wants.
"Such buildings will satisfy the educational needs during school days by providing modern facilities and classrooms, in line with ADEC's vision to create a student-focused education system," mentioned Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, executive director of ADEC's School Operations Sector.
Yas School construction began in 2014 and when completed in July it will also be equipped with all electromechanical and fire fighting systems and advanced technologies, as well as appropriate educational fixtures, including utilities and external landscaping containing playgrounds appropriate for all ages.
