The Sharjah Education Council has approved the printed publications of Horouf, an imprint of Kalimat Group, to be used alongside the school curriculum in preschools and elementary schools in Sharjah.

The print materials were distributed to all schools in Sharjah in a multiphase process. As many as 264 printed versions of Horouf’s educational materials were distributed in 31 preschools in Sharjah and 18 versions were distributed in 18 kindergartens in Sharjah to improve search and reading skills among children.

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, had launched the initiative last September to support education among students in Sharjah and to promote teaching and learning in Arabic by leveraging the latest technologies and creating a school environment that encourages creativity.

Horouf also provides electronic programmes to support student’s learning in Arabic language using a fun, smart and modern technology-enabled method.

Aisha Saif, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Education Council and Head of the Executive Committee of the initiative, said the decision to distribute Horouf’s printed publications to government kindergartens in Sharjah was in line with the initiative of Shaikh Sultan to support education in Arabic language.

She thanked Shaikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and CEO of Kalimat, for her efforts in establishing Horouf.

Horouf’s educational publications are a modern and integrated educational system in Arabic language that target children. This first of its kind initiative in the Arab world aims to help build and develop students to cope with the requirements of future growth and prepare a new generation able to utilise modern technology.
