“Science is an integral part of our world; it allows us to discover, create and understand things which help mankind flourish. The Wellington Academy, Al Khail, has always made an effort to incorporate science into the daily aspect of the education and we encourage our students to utilise the incorporation of science into their learning,” said Paul West, CEO and executive principal.

The session included discussions on the importance of science, empowering students through science education and how science triggers innovation that is essential to sustainable development.

Parents also had the chance to visit the school’s modern science labs as well as the new and vibrant Science Discovery Centre. Through the new centre, students will be able to experience all areas of science from creating electrical circuits and exploring static electricity to re-assembling skeletons and viewing 3D celestial displays.

The World Science Day for Peace and Development was initiated by Unesco in 1999 and established in 2001 to convey the importance of bridging the gap between science and society. -muaz@khaleejtimes.com
