The two-day carnival received almost 100 projects from the university’s students.

Shaikh Majid toured the festival’s activities along with Dr Al Jassim. “We are truly thankful and appreciative of Shaikh Majid’s kind sponsorship to the Zayed University Carnival for the third consecutive year that encourages students to better prepare and manage their projects during this annual carnival,” said Dr Al Jassim.

“The carnival is held yearly and this is the eighth edition; the carnival plays a great role in molding students’ personalities and grants them experiences that boost their self-esteem. It also aims to give students a chance to prove themselves as young entrepreneurs, enhance the entrepreneurial skills among students by encouraging them to establish and manage their small business during the event, present the capabilities, creativity and management skills of Zayed University students to the community and offer them opportunity to practice the skills they learn in class such as time management, budgeting, applying a business plan and customer service,” he added.

Shaima Khoory, activities coordinator, Student Life and the director of the Zayed University Carnival, said: “This annual event includes many segments mostly cultural and traditional, such as small businesses that include accessories, fashion wear, photography, Emirati cuisine, as well as cultural and recreational and artistic workshops.”
