Six new schools to open in Abu Dhabi

Six new schools in the UAE Capital, catering to thousands of students, are set to complete next month.
Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director General of Abu Education Council (ADEC), accompanied by Mr Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri Executive Director of ADEC's School Operations, and Ali Alhaj Al Mehairbi, Executive Director - Buildings Construction Management at Abu Dhabi General Services Company Musanada, toured the two schools, which are located in Mohammed bin Zayed City and Shakhbout City.
In Al Ain, Al Dhaheri and Suwaidan Al Dhaheri, Musanada Acting Chief Executive Officer, visited four new schools, which are located in Al Yahar, Al Shuaiba, Ain Al Faidha, and Al Qou' areas.
The school located in Mohammed bin Zayed City caters to one KG and C1 level students, with a capacity of 60 classes in C1 to accommodate 1,500 students, and 12 classrooms in KG stage accommodating 240 children.
The school in Shakhbut City, will cater fit 1,250 C1 students in 50 classrooms, and 240 kindergarten children in 12 classrooms.
In Al Ain, the schools of Al Yahar, Al Shuaiba and Ain Al Faydah accommodate KG and C1 students, with a capacity of 1,250 students for C1 within 50 classrooms, and 240 kindergarten children within 12 classrooms in each school, along with the associated educational buildings and facilities.
In Al Qou', the new school caters for 1000 students in C1 with 40 classrooms, and 240 kindergarten children with 12 classrooms, as well as the associated educational buildings and facilities.
Dr Ali Al Nuaimi said that opening of the new schools comes as part of ADEC Future Schools Programme, which complies with top international standards and practices, in terms of school facility-design and a friendly learning environment, which corresponds to the needs of future generations.
He stressed the importance of providing educational facilities designed to cater for different categories of students, particularly those with special needs.
"Future Schools are the first schools in the Emirate to comply with the UPC's Estidama sustainability standards, achieving two-pearl rating certification from Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, which improves local material use and encourages resources and waste minimisation.
Suwaidan Al Dhaheri, ??Musanada Acting Chief Executive Officer noted that Musanada has been keen on delivering school facility projects within the planned schedule and according to the highest international standards.

The new schools have been carefully located within the residential communities, which helps reduce student travel time.
The new buildings are eco-friendly that reduce water and electricity consumption through special environmentally optimal solutions, using high quality insulating materials, daytime lighting system and A/C eco-friendly system, to create a clean and healthy environment.-
