School Counsellors actually make matters worse. They try to find problems with children and then those children are actually insulted, instead of being helped discreetly. They are called over the intercom or through announcements in class. Ultimately the whole school comes to know that there is some problem with this particular student and start asking him or her questions. This causes a lot of embarrassment to the student and it shatter his self-esteem and confidence. But the counselling workshops that they conduct in schools are helpful. (I am not speaking about my school, but about the experiences shared by my friends from other schools.)

School counsellors are always there for students to share their emotions. They listen to a student’s problems and guide him or her on how to face such situations. I would suggest that every student should freely share his or her situation with their school counselor as they can help the students deal with certain situations. Though it might be uncomfortable for some students but taking a counsellor’s help in certain situations is much better than living in pain and stress.

The role of student counsellors these days is very vital as most of the students suffer from strong emotional disturbances and, at times, hesitate to approach their parents. The sad part is that many schools do not have student counsellors at all. School counsellors certainly are helpful as long as they are approachable and qualified enough to meet the requirements of the students. They indeed can help in supporting the students.

School counsellors are really helpful to students. They are like a second mother to students as they are well-equipped to understand the student’s feelings, emotions and mind set. Whenever a student feels lonely or left out, he can definitely approach the school counsellors as they can be his pillars of strength. A counsellor knows the student’s psychology and also understands how students respond to certain situations. They understands the child’s capabilities, analyses his/her problem and gives the students helpful suggestions. For these reasons I request all schools to have counsellors as they can help comprehend students’ problems and find solutions.

Let’s say you’re excessively being bullied at school and you’re sick of it or perhaps, you just found out that your parents are about to take a divorce, and the thought is disturbing you so much that you are unable to focus on your studies or do your homework or learn for tests. At such a point, you just feel the need to speak to someone about your problems. School counsellors are generally, amiable and empathising, so it feels good to talk them. You can count on them.
