Summit evokes new age skills for students

Speakers of the sixth World Education Summit (WES) expressed their optimism in the latest trends in education and the need for imparting new age skills for students.
Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Director-General of Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), who opened the WES 2016 in Dubai, said that development of next age skills of problem solving, critical thinking and creativity amongst students is vital in tech-savvy smart Dubai.
The summit that kicked off with the central theme of #learningfromdubai was attended by over 300 delegates from 14 countries participated in the summit A galaxy of 100 odd speakers from across school education and higher education sectors shared their experiences on a wide range of thematics.
"I believe that such events provide a great opportunity for a wider audience to understand and appreciate the latest trends in education. This can help institutions change and adapt their curriculum, pedagogy and student experiences in tune with the changing environment," said Christopher Abraham, head of Dubai Campus and senior vice-president, Institutional Development S P Jain School of Global Management - Dubai, Singapore, Sydney.
