Schools and education institutions across the UAE will operate at 100 per cent capacity from the second term, it was announced on Tuesday. The second term in UAE schools begin in January 2022.
School buses will operate at full capacity as well, Hazza Al Mansouri, spokesperson for the education sector in the UAE, said during a media briefing. Masks and social distancing remain mandatory for students, he added.

Schools in Dubai and Sharjah are already operating at 100 per cent capacity. With this new announcement, schools across the Emirates will welcome back all students.
Al Mansouri advised Covid-vaccinated teachers and staff to get booster shots if they are eligible.
The official said that educational facilities will be monitored to ensure the application of all Covid safety measures.
The decision was taken after it was observed that schools and colleges in the country had applied strict measures to receive the students safely. A sharp drop in daily Covid cases is another reason, he added.
Only vaccinated students are allowed in university hostels. If a student is not medically eligible to get vaccinated, h/she must get PCR tests every week.
Educational facilities can host events and invite parents. The attendees would, however, need to have a green pass on their AlHosn app and a negative result of a Covid test taken no more than 96 hours prior.
The official hailed students, their parents and academic staff for their commitment to all Covid safety measures. This has helped “the education sector return to normalcy”, he said.
Campus learning was suspended across all educational institutions in the UAE in March last year as a safety measure against the spread of Covid-19.
