According to the latest data from the British Council, 3,220 UAE students studied in the UK in the 2012-2013 academic year.
The British Council said in a Press release their target number of UAE students completing their higher education studies in the UK during the 2013-2014 academic year was 4,000 — an increase of 20 per cent over the previous year.
British Council UAE country director Marc Jessel said the preference for a UK higher education was often inherited from parents and elder siblings. “We are thrilled by this phenomenon, as it is an endorsement of the British higher education system, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the world.”
The council will host the 12th Education UK Exhibition (‘EDUKEX 2013’) from September 24 to 26 in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. — news@khaleejtimes.com
