University of Bolton's Academic Centre in Ras al Khaimah (ACERAK) are proud to announce their successful approval to extend the range of courses offered - starting September 2016. Having completed a rigorous validation process, ACERAK will be offering the much sought after BSc (Hons) Psychology as well as BA (Hons) Law. This is a testament to the experience and reputation the Academic Centre has developed since its inception in 2008.

Students opting to undertake BA (Hons) Law will gain a thorough grounding in the discipline, develop the transferable intellectual and personal skills that are essential for the practice of law including; attention to detail, absorbing and analysing often complex information, time management, teamwork and motivation.

ACERAK recognises the emerging priority of mental health as part of the UAE Vision 2021 commitment to "World-Class Healthcare" and as such have sought to increase the accessibility of suitable courses to help support this goal.  The programme will give students an in-depth understanding of the subject in terms of the science and theories of psychology and their application in everyday life; suitable not only for those wishing to enter the profession but associated roles such as Human Resources, Teaching, Government Agencies and the like.

Supporting these brand new courses are high quality, qualified and experienced teaching staff, many of whom are reaffirming their commitment to continuous personal development and research by undertaking Post Graduate Certificates in Higher Education as well as Doctorate Degrees.  As part of University of Bolton's commitment to remain Teaching Intensive, Research Informed (TIRI), the fundamental principle is to provide high quality intensive teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students across the academic disciplines. The intensive teaching is sustained by rigorous research that informs both the content and delivery of the curriculum. The TIRI approach places students at the centre of everything and develops distinctive academic strengths and competitive advantage in the sector.

Students are increasingly seeking a transnational education experience and the model of UK visit opportunities, emphasis on employability skills and innovation exceeds these expectations.  The Academic Centre has seen an increase in enrolments across the expanding range of services and much of this can be attributed to the wealth of experience and longstanding reputation as the best value British education provider in UAE.  The summer internship programme is available for all students to apply, it offers a unique opportunity to work with world class organisations and build up the practical experience to complement the academic achievements.  Producing well rounded graduates that are able to compete for employment opportunities on a global stage remains a continuous process since inception in 2008.

Scholarships continue to be offered as rewards to students demonstrating excellence with last year seeing significant scholarship awards made. RAK is fast becoming a destination for higher education, the local facilities and community atmosphere provide an exciting and welcoming feel for students especially when studying away from home.  The education infrastructure is going from strength to strength and is welcomed by employers and residents alike.
