University of Sharjah opens its branch in Al Dhaid

Sharjah - Al Dhaid branch of the university was to start operations from the new academic year.

The student community in Sharjah were in for a pleasant surprise on the day schools reopened, with Sharjah announcing the opening of Al Dhaid branch of the University of Sharjah.
As per directives issued by His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Al Dhaid branch of the university was to start operations from the new academic year.
Brigadier Saif Al Zari Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, visited the branch of the university on Sunday to oversee the traffic preparedness of the roads leading to it.
Traffic chaos on day one
The first day of the new academic year saw heavy traffic jams. The police deployed 60 patrols on the emirate's roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Policemen were stationed outside schools to ensure safety of students.
Brig Shamsi inspected the traffic situation on roads leading to schools.
He also reviewed the maintenance works being carried out on some roads leading to schools and universities complexes in the Muwailih area.
