No drowning or marine accidents were reported in Dubai and nearby valleys due to the unstable weather conditions during the past 24 hours.
Lt-Colonel Ali Al Naqbi, director of Maritime Rescue, said the police have stepped up preparedness to deal with emergencies in mountainous areas and valleys.
The police have stationed additional patrols in such areas. “Residents are advised to stay away from valleys when the weather is unstable,” he noted.
The police have also prepared for emergency scenarios in the desert areas as residents hit the outdoors.

Lt-Col Al Naqbi residents to call the police at 999 during emergencies. “Those heading out to the sea can use the ‘Sail Safely’ feature on the Dubai Police app. This feature warns users about delays and helps them identify hazards, send distress signals and seek emergency help.”
The officer also called on beach-goers to adhere to safety warnings. Swimmers are advised to not venture beyond 300-500 metres.
If the red flag is put up at beaches, residents are not allowed to swim due to rough sea conditions, Lt-Col Al Naqbi explained.
