His comments came during a visit to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, or Dewa.
During his visit, Al Mazrouei praised the directives of the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and their leading role to achieve the UAE Vision 2021 in order to reinforce the status of the state both regionally and globally and make it one of the best countries in the world by the year 2021.
The Minister was accompanied by Dr Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Under-Secretary at the Energy Ministry. Also present was Saeed Mohammed Ahmad Al Tayer, the chief executive officer and managing director of Dubai Electricity And Water Authority, who pointed out the tasks and responsibilities of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai under the chairmanship of Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, where he discussed the initiatives of energy efficiency and management.
During the visit, there was a presentation on Dewa and its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility and its strategy to focus on enhancing creative initiatives, successful investments and development projects. The presentation also shed light on the the most important awards that Dewa received and how this helped the UAE to attain the seventh global place in terms of easy access to electricity, according to World Bank’s Doing Business Report 2013.
