Take a hike

If you are a fan of trying out new food spots, we’ve got just the thing for you. Visit Tej (located at Ramada by Wyndham Dubai Deira) for Indian fare. It’s plating up a menu curated by Rajender Singh Bisht, who has more than 27 years of culinary experience. A family that runs together…
Either really enjoys it or gets cranky. Put yours to the test with Spinneys Family Run on October 12. The run this time is special – it’s to raise awareness for breast cancer, with entry fees donated to Al Jalila Foundation. The races, around Damac Hills Malls, are open to everyone of all ages and offer two distances to choose from – 2.5km and 5km. Entry fees start at Dh10. And the event will begin at 7.30am. Dystinct live at Terra Solis
Want to wear-in those dancing shoes? Get ready to tap your feet to the beats of Belgian-Moroccan Dystinct's reggae and pop-rap hits at Terra Solis on October 11. Want to brush up on his music before you head to the stage? His list of songs include Business and TekTek. DJs Mister Levier and Madelina are also coming to this party. So get ready to groove. Get ready for Dandiya Nights
It’s time to bring your A-game to the dance arena at Zabeel Park Amphitheatre. This means dressing the part – in Indian festive wear – and bringing along your dandiya sticks. On October 11 and 12, Anita Sharma and Rockers will entertain you with the best Bollywood beats at Navratri Utsav: Dandiya Nights. Doors open 30 minutes before show starts. Because this is a legit festival. Dubai Home Festival is running from October 11 to October 27 this year, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to update your home and refurbish those interiors (and basically, buy the stuff you really, really like). Malls, boutiques and stores across the city will have exclusive offers, and many will host pop-up workshops on interior design.
See a show
Who doesn’t love a good love story? Well, this weekend, you can see one of the best. Witness the epic Swan Lake on Ice at the Cultural Foundation Abu Dhabi on October 11 and 12. As Tchaikovsky’s classic music draws you into a new world, you can also enjoy new choreography from leading ice director Tony Mercer. Timings: 8pm (October 11); noon, 6pm and 9pm (October 12). Are you ready to laugh out loud?
Indian comic Gaurav Gupta is bringing his rib-tickling routine to the Dubai College stage on October 12 from 8pm onwards. The dentist-cum-stand-up’s brand of comic relief comes from observation of daily life, people and odd encounters. Doors to this giggle-inducing show open at 7.15. Take part in cooking classes
Wagamama is now offering adult cooking classes every Wednesday, providing a fun, interactive way to learn their signature dishes like Firecracker Curry and Pad Thai. Open to all skill levels, the classes foster a creative, welcoming atmosphere. For Dh120, participants enjoy a one-hour session that includes a main course, cocktail, apron, and tupperware.
