British police say they are attempting to negotiate with 20 to 30 men, some armed with blades, who have occupied a Sikh temple in central England.
The Warwickshire Police force says officers were called early on Sunday morning to the temple in Leamington Spa, a town 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of London.
The force says some of the men "are in possession of bladed items." Police say officers and religious leaders are inside "to negotiate a peaceful resolution."
Police say the incident isn't related to terrorism but is "an escalation of an ongoing local dispute." They didn't give any more details.
A wedding between a Sikh and a non-Sikh was due to be held at the temple on Sunday. Some Sikhs have previously objected to mixed weddings taking place there.
