A 39-year-old man plunged 100 metres while bungee jumping in Poland after his rope snapped mid-air, causing him serious spinal injuries. The man was filmed performing the terrifying jump at Rady Europy theme park in Gdynia, Poland. The terrifying footage shows him jumping off a 92-metre-high crane with the rope still intact, moments before it snapped and caused him to fall. The video on Mirror.co.uk shows the bungee jumper falling and then landing on the inflatable safety cushion before he bounced off onto the ground due to the impact. The fall caused the man serious spinal injuries and a broken cervical spine but is said to be recovering, the Trojmiasto reports. Bungeeclub, which has been running the business for the last 19 years, said this is the first accident. "As the only company organising Bungee jumping in Poland, we use a professional parachute - the so-called 'skokochron pillows'. Skokochron is one of such safeguards and in this situation was the only effective security," Bungeeclub said in a statement. While investigating the accident, police said they found a crack on the main bungee rope, however, it has yet not been established whether it was the direct cause of the accident. Police was also informed that the man was under the influence of alcohol at the moment of the jump.
