A fifth suspect has been arrested for the assault on three UAE women at a hotel in London earlier this week. The 32-year old man was arrested on Thursday from a house in Islington, police said. The condition of one of the sisters continues to be critical. Police said the other women are out of danger but are under observation in hospital.
The man was picked up on suspicion of murder like the other three male suspects. The woman was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
Metropolitan Police also obtained warrants to extend the detention of the alleged attackers on Thursday. The extension of custody means the suspects will be held for another 36 hours.
Those arrested earlier include the 31-year old woman, and two men aged 56 and 34. The other man's age is unclear.
The Emirati women were bludgeoned by a man wielding a hammer the 4-star Cumberland Hotel on Sunday.

Police said the male suspect entered the bedroom occupied by the Emiratis sisters — all in their thirties — and three children aged 7-12 years, on the seventh floor of the building. The children were sleeping in adjoining rooms and were unhurt.
Detectives said the suspect was “disturbed” by the occupants of the room, who could have put up a fight when he tried to steal their belongings or cash. Surprised by their resistence, he beat them mercilessly and made good his escape.
Police said the door to their room was left unlocked.
