In between jobs, he lives with his mother or in hostels.
"I had been living in backpackers hostels because I thought that might be the answer to the housing puzzle (spoiler: it wasn't)," Matt told Metro.co.uk.
"After a sleepless week in my favourite hostel, I met a friend. He took one look at my tired face and invited me to look after his flat while he went on holiday.
'One week I was sharing a bunk bed with backpackers, the next I had the keys to a one-bed flat in Putney. I had the space to breathe, to dream, to create.and that gave me an idea."
Using the power of the internet to find cat sitting jobs online, he pays 2 pounds for his website to be the first to show up when people search for a cat sitter in London.
The catch is that the Manchester resident doesn't charge for the service but instead makes most of his income from managing an events studio and doing some consulting on the side.
Of course, the cat sitting jobs have eliminated the expense of rent from his life.
Matt said he has cats or houses to look after 90 per cent of the time.
