A man in Russia was recently 'swallowed' by a pavement, and remained untraced for three days.
The 62-year-old man, while casually walking towards a bus stop, felt something strange happening on the ground. However, even before he realised what was happening, he sank into a huge hole that had opened up right under his feet. People rushed to help him but could not find him.
The incident was captured by a CCTV camera. According to Al Arabiya, a woman reported the incident to the police and called an ambulance. Authorities started digging the ground to get the man out, but could not find him.
After three days, he was found in a room-sized hole after digging six meters deep. It was later revealed that a cave existed underneath the street and bad weather had caused the road above it to cave in. The man was treated in a hospital for three days.
The street had been turned into a giant workshop during these three days and excavators were searching for any possible expansion of the cave, but they couldn't find any, the news website reported.
