The initiative is offered on a flydubai inbound booking itinerary, a one-way ticket to Dubai or any connecting flydubai flight via Dubai.
“We are excited to welcome the world to Dubai as Expo 2020 opens its doors to visitors. flydubai will play an important role in supporting the UAE’s efforts to make this a truly remarkable event by connecting underserved markets to Dubai. In July, Dubai’s flagship carrier Emirates had also announced complimentary day passes to passengers for Expo 2020.
Passengers who fly with Emirates to Dubai between October 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022, will get one pass for each person for Expo 2020. Passengers who are flying through Dubai too can avail the opportunity if their connection in Dubai is more than six hours.
Categorised into three tiers, the one-day ticket is priced at Dh95 ($26); multi-day ticket, offering unrestricted entry for 30 consecutive days, is priced at Dh195 ($53), and season passes, with unlimited entry for the entire six months of Expo 2020, cost Dh495 ($135).
Sumathi Ramanathan, vice-president for market strategy and sales at Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “The support from organisations across the country has been instrumental in helping us deliver a safe and spectacular event. Adding flydubai to our network of more than 2,500 Authorised Ticket Resellers from around the world will help make the Expo easily accessible to millions of people.”
Flydubai has increased its network to more than 95 destinations in 50 countries as travel restrictions by the UAE and other countries around the world.
Jeyhun Efendi, senior vice-president for commercial operations and e-commerce at flydubai, said the gradual easing of restrictions on international travel and the UAE’s efforts and stringent Covid-19 protocols will see more people visiting Dubai over the six months.
‘Flydubai will enable more people to visit the UAE as we start flights to Ankara, Budapest, Ljubljana and Warsaw from September onwards. We will also restart our operations to Helsinki and Zagreb in the next few weeks,’’ added Efendi.
