The three-day festival of racing and entertainment takes place on Friday to Sunday at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
It will mark BIC’s 10th anniversary, and it will be Bahrain’s first-ever night race. Formula One’s talented drivers continued to arrive in Bahrain, along with scores of team personnel.
The talented Williams pairing of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas were among those to touch down. Also reaching was Sauber test driver Giedo van der Garde, who will be taking to the wheel of his team’s car on Friday for a practice run.
The nearly 500 tonnes of equipment, shipped from Malaysia in just 48 hours’ time, has also already reached BIC and the teams began to unpack.
From there they moved on to begin setting up their garages, and the BIC Paddock was bustling with activity throughout the day today.
Circuit-wide preparations continue on Wednesday, in preparation for the first group of fans being welcomed to BIC on Thursday for an exclusive pit-walk for all three-day ticket holders. The pit-walk will give them a chance to see the Formula One teams hard at work ahead of the start of racing on Friday.
Tickets are still available for the 2014 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. They can be purchased at the BIC stands in Bahrain City Centre or Seef Mall; online at www.bahraingp.com or on the official BIC page on Facebook; or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17-450000.
