It was a day full of favourites at New York Fashion Week with Victoria Beckham, Diane Von Fusternberg, Prabhal Gurung and Public School all taking to the ramp. And was a reminder that fashion is really just about having a love for clothes.
Victoria Beckham proved she is a truly knows her fashion. She stayed away from her usual cocktail dresses, and went more casual. It still had all the "poshness" you expect from VB. As the designer embraced print, she moved with ease from checks to surfer inspired prints. Colours were vibrant, shoes were platform and her half moon bag, all had a feel of relaxed elegance. This collection would truly add some "Spring" into your wardrobe. With fashion's ultimate last word, Anna Wintour, sitting next to VB's husband David and son Brooklyn, the designer must have been confident that was a collection that the critics would love.
Another fashion it girl, Diane Von Fusternberg, also known by her initials DVF, is still fashion's ruling bohemian princess. Supermodel Karlie Kloss opened the show in a DVF signature printed wrap fit for a flower child. You could not help but think of Indian block prints. Diane took you back to the 70s. Yes, it seems fashion's love affair with this decade is not over. Though it lacked the surprise element of VB's collection, the shiny green eyeshadow, gold lurex playsuits and butterfly maxi dresses made you wonder if you could ever be bored of the disco era.
