Honours went to ‘Action Devils’ (division one champions) with a core of players from Repton School, and ‘The Gunners’ (division two champions).
The Moorfields Under 12 Youth Football League comprises two divisions, each with eight teams of eight players competing. Moorfields is the title sponsor of the league and of one particular team, which was renamed ‘Moorfields United’ for the season.
Speaking at the awards presentation, Maha Aboughali, Marketing Manager at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, said: “In the three years since opening a new hospital in Dubai, Moorfields has been very active in the community, with a special focus on school-age children, by way of a screening programme and now support for youth sports. We wanted to support sports and at the same time to raise awareness about the importance of eye screening for children. Our involvement with the youth league has been a fantastic experience and we look forward to coming back for the next season.
“Congratulations to the winners and all the participating teams, and to Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence for its outstanding organisation and management.”
