Praising the Al Ain club management for its perfect organisation of the tournament, he hailed the remarkable role played by the Higher Organising Committee of AFIC 2010 as well as the regulations developed by the Technical Committee.

“I think Al Ain is the most prepared team considering their excellent performance against Riffa, which is one of the strongest team in Gulf. Even Al Itahad of Syria are doing well inspite of arriving late.”

Al Awisi added: “Our team Al Shabab of Oman tasted success against Al Itahad of Syria holding them for a draw. This proves that the team are focussed and their fitness level has improved.

“I expect a lot of Omani fans to support us during their match against Al Ain.”

Al Ain goalkeeper Yousif Abdul Rahman said that the pre season preparations of the Al Ain team was on track and they were working hard to get a positive result.

“The secret of my success with the UAE Olympic team was due to the sheer hardwork and the high team spirit. We had great support from the technical and administration staff which gave us good success,” Rahman said.

“We will work together for the new season and ensure that the fans are happy with our results. Their support means a lot to the team,” he added.

Al Ain defender Fawzi Fayez considered the AFIC 2010 was a good preparation for the players who had not participated in the friendly matches in Austria.

“AFIC 2010 comes as an extension of our external camp in Austria and we look to achieve success in the new season. I look forward to represent UAE in the international competitions,” he said.
