Indian Football Team Arrive in Dubai

DUBAI — The Indian national football team arrived in Dubai to take part in a training camp.

The 25-member team was accompanied by eight officials including chief coach Bob Houghton, assistant coach Savio Madeira and team manager Pradeep Kumar Choudhry.

Star striker Bhaichung Bhutia is the captain of the team. The team will be training in Dubai at the Emirates Sevens Grounds during their 20-day training camp. India have qualified for the 2011 Asian Cup to be held in Qatar. This will be India’s first participation in the continent’s biggest football event in three decades.

India have qualified for the Asian Cup only twice before.
