MWL Secretary General stressed the need for unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians by opening all crossings

The Child Safety Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah has issued an advisory for UAE media regarding coverage of stories involving children.
A 'sensitive warning or advisory' of sorts, the Council posted a moving re-enactment video showing a family mourning the drowning of their child - and the traumatic impact on the former of the subsequent media coverage that follows.
In the video, a journalist is shown filing the story online using the picture of the young victim - as it is - revealing his identity. The story goes viral with readers sharing the boy's picture on social media, adding to the family's woes.
The child safety council urged the media to be sensitive with the coverage of such stories, and respect the family's privacy by not disclosing the victim's and family's identity.
The media is reminded of UAE's Child Rights Law (Wadeema), which states:
'It is prohibited to disclose the identities of all parties and witnesses in case of child abuse or ill treatment [.] in information reports, or the publication of any material that may lead to the identification thereof.'

'One word or photo is all it takes to impact children's and families' lives for years. The advisory is more relevant today than ever - as in the world of fast paced 'breaking' digital journalism, media outlets tend to overshare at times, encroaching on people's privacy and hurting sentiments.
When you break their news, you break into their cocoon.'
