Dubai – According to a new resolution endorsed by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, improper disposal of wastewater in Dubai is subject to a fine of Dh10,000.
The Dubai Executive Council’s Resolution No 14 of 2015 amended the penalties and fines on violation of Local Order No 11 of 2003 on Public Health and Safety of the Society in the Emirate of Dubai.
The penalties and fines schedule attached to the new resolution revokes those attached to Administrative Resolution No 30 of 2007. The new Resolution is aimed at preserving the civilised image of Dubai as a global city.
The amendment in the penalties and fines include wrong disposal of hazardous waste, building and demolition waste and industrial waste.
Any leakage of wastewater from buildings or septic tank is subject to Dh10,000 fine, any leakage or improper disposal of liquid or solid materials from concrete mixing transport trucks is subject to Dh50,000 fine and improper disposal of used oils in the public sewage network, cesspools or roads is subject to Dh3,000 fine.
