Ministry of Labour marks Zayed Humanitarian Day

The Ministry of Labour organised a number of humanitarian and charity events to celebrate the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which fell on Ramadan 19 (July 17).

Saif Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labour for Institutional and Support Services, said: “The ministry is celebrating Shaikh Zayed’s endless charity; his keenness to help the needy irrespective of their religion or race. He planted these values and principles in the hearts of his people.”

The ministry’s Guidance Department, in cooperation with the Islamic Affairs Authority, organised a variety of events at the labour camps in Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The Dubai Inspections Department carried out a donations campaign to prepare Iftar for 100 fasting labourers.

The department also organised a ‘Meer Ramadan’ initiative in Ras al-Khaimah, during which food and water was distributed to over 60 families.

The Dubai Labour Office organised a Suhoor campaign for 12 days targeting more than 700 fasting labourers at the Othman Ibn Affan Mosque in Ajman.

The Fujairah Labour Office launched a ‘Suqia Ramadan’ initiative where they distributed juices, milk and water to Ramadan Iftar tents in different mosques.
