Municipality of RAK shifts to new building

The Municipality of Ras Al Khaimah is ready to function from its all-new headquarters.
The move, in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, comes as part of the efforts to meet the needs of customers, in the wake of an overwhelming boom in the emirate.
Munzir bin Shukr Al Zaabi, Director-General of the RAK Municipality, said the new structure consists of two major sectors: The first for handling technical issues and the second for managing land affairs.
"The first sector, branching into three departments and a specialised centre, spans the planning and survey department, as well as the buildings and projects departments, let alone the centre for geographical information system." There are four departments under the second sector, he explained.
"These are the real estate regulatory department, freehold and real estate attestation department, real estate data department, and the real estate registration department."
Al Zaabi said the planning and survey department under the technical affairs sector includes several sections. "These cover general blueprints, planning studies, detailed and urban planning, survey, and planning issuance sections."
The building department under the same sector spans the sections of licensing, inspection, advertisement, and rehabilitation, he elaborated.
"The projects department includes the planning and follow-up section, as well as the execution section while the centre for geographical information system comprises the sections of geographical projects and geographical data."
Al Zaabi said the land and real estate attestation department branches into freehold and attestation sections while the real estate data department contains the sections of investigation and reporting, archiving, real estate mortgage, and old properties attestation.
"The sections of real estate agents licence, real estate transactions, and contracts attestation fall under the real estate registration department."
