As per the new changes, Maitha Al Shamsi has been appointed CEO for Social Regulation and Licensing Sector while Dr Omar Al Muthanna has been appointed CEO for the Human Rights Sector. In his new role, Dr Al Muthanna will be responsible for all activities related to human rights awareness, human rights campaigns, legal consultation to human rights advocates and others.
The new roles fall within the vision of the Government of Dubai and works towards implementing the fourth generation system standards for Dubai Government Excellence system. The change in roles also serve the CDA's objectives to help benefit its clients further.
Khaled Al Kamda, Director-General of the CDA, noted that this step is necessary for the "vital period ahead" as it serves competitiveness and adds quality to the work provided by the CDA.
"Achieving the desired social outcome of Dubai Strategy Plan 2021 requires employing the best expertise at the fitting positions."
He said it is keen to utilise the skills of "our proficient staff to the maximum" and he is confident this step will greatly help the social service sector.
"It will further activate the role of licensing to reflect the vision of the UAE leadership in developing UAE community at the highest levels of service qualities and the happiness of the citizens and residents."
