Rulers of the Emirates hail UAE’s achievements

In celebration of the Spirit of the Union on the UAE’s 42nd National Day, Rulers of the Emirates praised the achievements made by the UAE since its establishment over four decades ago.

Union our core strength through challenging times: Shaikh Sultan

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has extended his warmest congratulations to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, to General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the people of the UAE on the occasion of the 42^nd National Day of the country.

Shaikh Sultan stated: “Anyone who pursues the history of the United Arab Emirates, founded more than four decades ago, should understand the endeavours and efforts made by the Founders of the Union, in their struggle for this entity. The Union is a result of all the difficulties they faced and the obstacles they encountered, their energies and greater resolve to continue working for the principle they believed in: integration and cooperation among them through a strong union that ensures security and stability for people and pushes towards progress.”

“The UAE, thanks to God, and thanks to the efforts of its loyal sons, has provided the opportunity to build a solid Union based on strong and firm foundations, laid down by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,” Shaikh Sultan said in a statement to Dira’a Al Watan magazine.

December 2, he said, is a historic day, where the efforts of the honest and loyal Rulers of the Emirates, and the leader of the march, the late Shaikh Zayed, established the “Union of our dear nation”.

“People of the UAE — men and women, old and young — should take this anniversary as an opportunity to encourage all to achieve their hopes and our hope. We should hope that the new generation will be able to carry the responsibility with loyalty and awareness of what the Union has achieved, and with all strength to maintain its achievements.

“We pray to God that this Union will be the core of our strength, way and our guide to preserve its rules in this difficult time, which is witnessing a lot of changes and tragedies,” he concluded.

UAE is glowing example of urban development: Shaikh Saud

His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has said that the UAE Union experience has become a glowing example of urban development.

He paid rich tribute to Emiratis for their perseverance and allegiance to the forefathers, the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the nation.

“The UAE, led by Shaikh Khalifa, is proud of its huge achievements attained under the Union. The world wonders at the urban development carried out by the UAE in record time,” Shaikh Saud told Dira’a Al Watan magazine on the occasion of the 42^nd National Day.

“We will never falter following the footsteps of the founding fathers. We have pledged allegiance to Shaikh Khalifa, to lead on the basis of the Union, he affirmed.

“The Union is our present and future. We pray to Almighty Allah to preserve our nation and prosperity to pass the gains on to our sons and grandchildren.

“December each year represents a symbol of unity to our people, country and history. It sums up the values of allegiance and loyalty that produced the most successful union experience in the Arab world. It has become an experience to be emulated,” he said.

“When we observe the National Day anniversary, we remember the UAE, founding fathers, notably, the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his late brothers, Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates, for their valuable efforts to establish the pillars of the Union based on justice, equality, fraternity and strenuous work, to develop the country and achieve welfare for the people of the UAE.

“We will never falter following the footsteps of the founding fathers. We have pledged allegiance to Shaikh Khalifa, to lead on the basis of the Union.

“Based on solidarity and cohesion, the UAE extends assistance to sisterly and friendly countries, as well as those in need, irrespective of religion, race or sect.”

Union progressing towards more empowerment: Shaikh Hamad

Since the establishment of the Union 42 years ago, the UAE has become the symbol of pride, progress and development, His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has said.

In a statement to Dira’a Al Watan magazine on the occasion of the UAE’s 42^nd National Day, the ruler of Fujairah said: “Union consolidates determination, achieves welfare, coordinates efforts, develops knowledge and science and highlights the country’s stature and hoists its flag high.”

Shaikh Hamad said without the Union they would not have been able to build the homeland, secure a better life, maintain achievements, boost development or increase wealth, adding that it highlights the prestigious stature of the country among nations in the international events.

“Thanks to the wise leadership, its love for its people and the mutual love of the citizens towards their leadership, the march of the union has started and developed steadily.

He said the march of Union is a story of a people, who chose cooperation and building bridges of brotherhood in order to reach the future with confident steps.

“Now, the UAE is a hub of the international economy and a destination of renaissance, prosperity and overall development. For everyone who seeks happiness, security and safety, the UAE will be the destination.

“The UAE, under the umbrella of the Union, is progressing towards more empowerment. All these achievements come within an overall government strategy, which has put the UAE among the most generous, development funding and charitable countries, worldwide.”

We present distinguished model of state growth: Shaikh Saud

The 42^nd National Day is a great occasion to mark the inception of the UAE Union, a fulfillment of a dream of the forefathers who exerted their utmost efforts to make it a reality, His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, has said.

“Our Union has presented to the world a distinguished model of state growth and a unique success story that earned applause and appreciation from the world in terms of the welfare state and urban development, to the extent that many people across the globe wished to be Emiratis,” Shaikh Saud said in a statement to Dira’a Al Watan magazine.

The call for excellence, he added, has become a watchword for this generation, upon the directives of the leadership to sustain gains in all fields. “As the spirits of the founding fathers celebrate their success story, today, we also observe the grand feat that evokes in us joy and pride about the common identity of the UAE people. We pay a glowing tribute to the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.”

He said the call for excellence is a test, in which each in his field looks to further excel and innovate. For instance, renewable energy projects that have become reality, and natural sources of energy. “As we pledge allegiance to the leadership, the development project plans take many issues into account to sustain welfare and strengthen institutions. We also praise the move of the Federal National Council to discuss the demographic structure issue in its third ordinary session of the 15^th legislative chapter.”

UAE has become a role model for other countries: Shaikh Humaid

The UAE has maintained its progress, cultural and civil horizons with full perfection during the past four decades thanks to the country’s wise leadership, His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has said.

On the occasion of the UAE’s 42^nd National Day, Shaikh Humaid said the last four decades represented a very prosperous period in the history of the UAE under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He extended his greetings to Shaikh Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and to the country’s generous people, wishing all progress, welfare and prosperity for the beloved country.

“Under the umbrella of the Union, our country has witnessed an educational, economic, urban and agricultural renaissance, which meets the needs of the present and the future within an outstanding developmental process. In a way, it put the UAE in the front row among the most civilised countries in the world, as it put sustainable development at the top of its priorities,” he said in a statement to Dira’a Al Watan magazine, on the occasion of the 42^nd National Day.

He added that the Founding Father, the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan left his hallmark in every walk of life. He said the UAE has become a role model among the countries of the world and independent surveys and statistics have proven this.

Moving ahead: General Shaikh Mohammed

General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has said that the country has made resounding success in achieving its development goals and is bracing to take the Union to advanced standards of progress.

He hailed December 2 as a glorious day in the history of the UAE, which holds a special place and significance “in our hearts” given its deep, far-reaching emotional and patriotic values.

“On the 42^nd anniversary of the Union, we reflect on its grand structure and remember the founding fathers, led by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan whose efforts and insightful thoughts to realise his historic conviction of establishing a federal state brought all people of our beloved country together in a unique developmental experiment that set a role model for building of nations,” said Gen Shaikh Mohammed in a statement to Dira’a Al Watan magazine.

Bolster cohesion: Shaikh Hamdan

In a statement to Dira’a Al Watan magazine on the occasion of the UAE’s 42^nd National Day, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said: “On the occasion of the UAE’s 42^nd National Day I underscore the importance of bolstering national and social cohesion.

“Forty two years have passed since the establishment of our country by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Shaikh Zayed always said, ‘Almighty Allah granted us with people and national wealth and we have to harness all these energies and capabilities for the benefit of our people in building a modern state.’

“Thanks to Almighty Allah and the wisdom of our forefathers, the founders and the policies of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the country has overcome obstacles and reached prestigious levels.”

Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers hail UAE’s achievements

In celebration of the Spirit of the Union on the UAE’s 42^nd National Day, Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers of the Emirates praised the achievements made by the UAE since its establishment over four decades ago.

In speeches published by the Dira’a Al Watan magazine Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, offered greetings to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and the people of the UAE.

“We in the UAE are one family under a visionary leadership. We are proud of our achievements, our heritage and our interaction with other cultures of the world,” he said.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, said the UAE had become among the world’s best countries in terms of economic development and happiness thanks to the wise policy adopted by Shaikh Khalifa.

Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, said the achievements made through the past 42 years could not have been made without the wisdom and foresightedness of the founding fathers, “who instilled in us the love for our country and the passion to achieve.”

Shaikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah said: “We shall always remember the day when the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan announced the birth of the UAE which was a prelude for an unprecdented development and prosperity for UAE citizens and residents alike.”

Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, said the progress made by the UAE was a result of the vision and directives of Shaikh Khalifa and the collective efforts of the UAE peoples.

Shaikh Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Deputy Ruler of Fujairah, said: “By normal standards, 42 years is a very short time to build a full-fledged nation, but thanks to the determination of the founding fathers and the dedication of our people, the UAE has made a tremendous change from an arid desert and isolated coasts into a modern wonder of the world within that short span of time.”

Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah said: “42 years on, the UAE is pressing ahead with ambitions to preserve environment and heritage for the next generations.”

Shaikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, said he was particularly proud of the several achievements of Shaikh Khalifa, including the election of the first woman from UAQ as a member of the Federal National Council, who was later elected as Deputy Speaker of the Council.

Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman said: “The 42^nd anniversary of the National Day is an opportunity to pay tribute to the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers, the founding fathers. It is also an opportunity to renew our allegiance to Shaikh Khalifa to continue leading our progress.”

Shaikh Nasser bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Deputy Ruler of Ajman said: “December 2^nd was a turning point in our nation’s history. It was the day that witnessed the beginning of an epic journey to transform the country into one of the world’s best.”
