Shaikh Mohammed invited to lecture at Columbia University

Dubai - Mohammed meets delegation; hails varsity's alumni.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday received the President and members of the Board of US-based Columbia University at the Executive Office.
Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince; and Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, also attended the meeting. Shaikh Mohammed welcomed the university delegation to Dubai, and thanked them for choosing the emirate as the venue for their annual meeting.
He also highlighted the UAE's efforts to further enhance access to high-quality education by providing overseas scholarships to its citizens and attracting the world's best educational institutions to the country.
The Columbia University delegation spoke to Shaikh Mohammed about the university's programmes and scientific research. Shaikh Mohammed praised the university's alumni, which includes several distinguished global leaders, politicians, economists and Nobel Prize winners.
Later, Shaikh Mohammed tweeted that he has received an invitation from the president of columbia university to deliver a lecture at its headquarets in New York.- Wam
