Shaikh Mohammed receives Emirati intellectuals

Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, were also present. Shaikh Mohammed discussed cultural and heritage issues with his guests and how to strengthen the national identity in the local community through cultural events and activities.

He referred to the launch of a group of initiatives in the genres of poetry, fiction, plastic arts and purebred Arabian horse and camel sports and urged writers, intellectuals and other stakeholders to engage young Emirati men and women in cultural activities and help them know about their forefathers’ legacy. Shaikh Mohammed said the new UAE Space Agency will lead to the first space programme of its kind in the region. It will enable the UAE and its allies to benefit from scientific advancement.

The national leadership, he said, was stressing education and science. They were the top priority of national development programmes to deliver national goals to Emiratis and the next generations.

Shaikh Mohammed hosted an Iftar banquet in honour of his guests.

It was also attended by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development; Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health; and local officials.
