His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was lauded for his efforts to bring peace in the sub-continent amid simmering tensions between India and Pakistan over LoC airstrikes.

The Abu Dhabi declaration passed at the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) Council of Foreign Ministers said:

'We welcome the efforts that aim at maintaining regional security and safety in South Asia, and we praise Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed's pacification efforts to find a common ground between the leaderships of Pakistan and India.'
The OIC declaration added that the member states emphasised the necessity to stabilise the situation, as soon as possible, in South-East Asia and Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa as well as other other areas of the African continent, through finding an immediate political solution to all crisis and conflicts to avoid the negative and devastating impact thereof, in compliance with principles of the UN Charter and the Charter of the OIC as well as international standards, in order to end the suffering of the affected populations.
"We welcome the positive initiative undertaken by Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, to hand over the Indian pilot as a gesture of goodwill to de-escalate tensions in the region," said another resolution.
