His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, held talks with visiting US Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter at the Beach Palace on Tuesday.
The talks centred on efforts by the international community to counter exremism, violence and terrorist groups as well as global coordination and cooperation to support these efforts.
The talks also touched on the contribution by the UAE and the US in eradicating the scourge of terrorism and criminal organisations that threaten the security and stability of the region. Also discussed were ways of enhancing bilateral ties, notably cooperation in the defence and military fields.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed and Carter discussed cooperation on a variety of issues aimed at consolidating security, stability and peace. The leaders exchanged views on a broad range of regional and international developments. - Wam
