UAE, Kuwait discuss parliamentary cooperation

Dubai - Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, on Wednesday met with Kuwait National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Mubarak Al Khurainej, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting, which was attended by Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, Assistant Secretary-General of legislative and parliamentary affairs, covered ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the Federal National Council and the Kuwaiti National Assembly with the emphsise on developing them in various fields along with the exchange of visits to take advantage of the experiences of both sides in this regard.

Al Murr praised the deeply fraternal relations between the UAE and Kuwait, thanks to guidance of President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, which is an example of fraternal relations. 

Al Murr reviewed the progress of parliamentary life in the UAE and the achievements of the FNC and its activities, as well as its role in supporting the overall development process through the exercise of its constitutional powers.

The meeting touched on the most important developments in the region and the latest events in Yemen.

The two sides noted the success of Operation Decisive Storm led by Saudi Arabia in achieving its objectives, confirming that the next step is Operation Restoration Hope in order to restore stability and to put Yemen on the right path through the achievement of development in all fields.

Al Khurainej emphasised the importance of this meeting in discussing various issues of mutual concern to both sides and he conveyed the greetings of The Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker, Marzouq Al Ghanim, praising the fraternal relations between the two countries, affirming their keenness on strengthening them in all areas.

Al Khurainej hailed the achievements accomplished by the UAE parliamentary diplomacy through the participation of the Parliamentary Division in various Arab, Islamic and International parliamentary forums, expressing his admiration for the economic, social, cultural and urban development being witnessed by the UAE.
