Young Indians are inspired by visit

Dubai - Khaleej Times spoke to a few of them including students and professionals.

 The visit of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to India, has inspired thoughts of stronger ties with their home country among young Indians residing in the UAE.
Khaleej Times spoke to a few of them including students and professionals, to share their opinion on what the high-profile state visit means to them.
Ashwin Mehta, a Bachelor in Law student said Shaikh Mohammed's trip to India is of great significance as both countries have dynamic visionary leaders who want to improve the wellbeing of their people.
"I was born and have lived in the UAE so always want to see the historical and strategic ties between the two nations scale new heights. India should benefit from the expertise of the UAE particularly in developing state of the art infrastructure. India and the UAE should collaborate for mutual benefit," he added.
Devika Chandrababu, a 24-year-old architect said she was enthralled that the rulers of the UAE are taking a conscious effort to tighten ties with her home soil.
"As an Indian residing in Dubai, I feel a lot more secure (with such moves), and almost glad to gain a sense of camaraderie amongst the countrymen of UAE. This will not only be beneficial for them, but will be for us non-residential Indians residing in UAE."
According to Rahul Sudheer another young architect, the high profile state visits are long overdue considering the number of Indians residing in the UAE.
"It's a matter of great pride for us to welcome Shaikh Mohammed to India while all these years we've been made to feel home away from home here in the UAE. I also can't help but give due credit to NaMo (Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi) for this return gesture," he said.Stephy Dilip, an Indian student in Dubai said it was a wonderful feeling to know that Shaikh Mohammed is visiting India.
"It is a trip that will strengthen bilateral, economic, and monetary ties. Considering that the Indian diaspora is so large in the UAE, such relations between UAE and India are very important for the benefit of both nations," added Stephy.
