Ajman Municipality is using advanced techniques to control mosquitoes and flies menace which usually increase during the autumn season.
Dr Mohammed Attia, Deputy Head of the Health Section at the municipality, said the section had intensified its pest control campaign to control rain insects in various parts of the emirate.
The Pest Control Section is using new and stronger pesticides, which can destroy the insect's immune system built up due to constant use of pesticides.
Dr Attia said that in order to protect the environment and ensure safety of public health, the municipality had hired qualified specialists in the field of pesticides chemistry and pest control.
The Pest Control Section works round-the-clock during the rainy season to control mosquitoes, which carry malaria virus and flies by spraying pesticides during the evening hours on eggs and larvae of mosquitoes.
He said that foodstuff shops, construction companies and other establishments have to comply with general cleanliness rules stipulated by the section and should be free from pests that are harmful to human health.
