He said that the issue is not that serious to create panic among people. “It is just a normal accident that happens sometimes everywhere. The case has no link or relation to the Sharjah assailant who was arrested recently by the Sharjah Police for attacking four women.”

The official stressed that the father of the victim, Reem, lodged a formal complaint with the police, and as usual, the officers of the investigation section are doing their best to arrest the person who attacked the girl. “Within a short time, the truth would be revealed and will be clear for the police and the public,” he commented.

He assured that the accident is simple, and people shouldn’t link it to the Sharjah cases. The officers are on an alert round-the-clock to ensure peace and safety in the emirate. “If there is an assailant who really attacked this girl, he would be soon arrested and brought to justice,” he said.

The official stressed that police officers intensified their efforts by increasing the number of the patrolling vehicles on all roads and spots in Ajman. They have taken precautionary measures and adopted security procedures to protect members of the society from being assaulted and ensure peace and security in the emirate.

Mahmoud Saad, the father of the victim, denied claims that his daughter was attacked by a son of their neighbour. He stressed that his daughter was attacked by a black and tall person who was also seen by a neighbour. “My neighbour and his daughter, the eyewitness to the incident, would provide the investigation officers with the full description of the man who attacked Reem.”

Reem said that her friend, who is also her neighbour, saw the attacker sitting on the stairs when she came back from school, but he didn’t attack her, as there were many people in the building waiting for the elevator.
