Canadian national wins dream car in DDF Finest Surprise

DUBAI - Ahmad Farah, a forty-eight-year-old Canadian national based in Kuwait was over the moon when he received the much awaited telephone call from Dubai Duty Free, with the announcement that he just won the Lamborghini Gallardo at Dubai Duty Free's Finest Surprise Promotion held on Friday at the Shaikh Rashid Terminal.

His ticket No. 1104 in Series No. 1124 was drawn by Dubai Duty Free's Managing Director, Colm McLoughlin along with George Horan, Deputy Managing Director and Salah Tahlak, Director-Corporate Communications & DTC.

Mr Farah, a prominent jeweller in Kuwait could not hide his delight upon hearing the news.

"This is such fantastic news as I had purchased quite a lot of raffle tickets for the luxury cars in the past, so when I received a call today from Dubai Duty Free, I just knew it that I won the Lamborghini!", said Mr Farah.

"This car is everybody's dream car and I am just so thrilled about it. I can't wait to bring it home", added Mr Farah. Mr Farah purchased the winning ticket while returning to Kuwait on February 27. He is determined to keep trying his luck with Dubai Duty Free in the future.

The second winner of the day was a Dubai-based British national, Stuart Taylor, who won a top of the range Harley Davidson FXSTDI Softail Deuce. Mr Taylor's winning ticket is number 0133 in Series No. 028 which he purchased on March 14. He's not in town at present but will surely be surprised when he learns of his win.

Following on Friday's draw a presentation was made to previous car winners.

A student pilot, Evgeny Syumbaev, a Dubai-based Russian national, was excited to collect his Alabaster White Mercedes Benz S500 from Dubai Duty Free's Managing Director, Colm McLoughlin.

A fellow winner, Shabbir Baheranwala, was also proud of his win, a Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 which he won in Series No. 1129 with ticket No. 0133. His winning ticket was drawn by the world's famous tennis star, Roger Federer (World No. 1), winner of Dubai Duty Free Men's Open 2004 on March 7.

Tickets for the Jaguar were on sale at the Dubai Tennis Stadium for two weeks to give tennis fans an opportunity to win the car.
