A gala dinner will be hosted under the patronage and in the presence of Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

More than 300 guests will attend the charity dinner to show their support to the KHCF in Jordan, run by a board of trustees comprising a group of prominent volunteers and chaired by Princess Ghida Talal. The King Hussein Cancer Foundation is the umbrella organisation running the King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC). All donations for the benefit of the KHCC are channelled through the KHCF.

In February, the centre became the first hospital in Jordan to be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organisations (JCAHO) and the fourth hospital in the Middle East to be awarded this certification. The success of the centre was primarily because of the late King Hussein Bin Talal who fought the disease with courage and determination,” said Princess Ghida Talal.

In order to support its mission of fighting the disease, the KHCF organises various fund-raising activities.

“Cancer knows no borders. It affects adults and children, men and women, rich and poor alike. Sadly, every single one of us has been touched by cancer in one way or another. That is why the foundation invites all those who wish to take an active role in the fight against cancer especially in our region,” said Princess Dina Mired.

The evening at Grand Hyatt will feature celebrated Lebanese musician Jihad Akl. There will also be a fashion show by Jordanian designer Samia Mango which will showcase a number of her exquisitely designed traditional Arabic kaftans and jewellery.
