Across the world's largest cities, WRI estimates the longest heatwave each year could last 16.3 days on average under a 1.5°C scenario, but 24.5 days at 3°C
Laila Suhail, Project Director, Dubai Summer Surprises, said, "A healthy spirit of competition always enhances one's level of involvement in an activity. When the various zones in the Modhesh Fun City run the competitions, it is amazing to see how winners, leaders and teams emerge, and it is also a valuable lesson for children to be able to lose gracefully. Such things actually will influence a child's mind and they will carry these lessons with them throughout life."
The most popular zone to compete among all age groups at the Modhesh Fun City is the Spacetoon Lets & Go Car-racing Zone. Every race over the five-lane track is competitive, and winners can stay on and play one more time.
This section is soon going to be one to really watch out for. The National and International Championships are going to be held at the same tracks in the Modhesh Fun City. On August 28, the UAE Championship will take place, from which three of the best from UAE will be selected to represent the UAE in the next days contest, the Arab Championship. The country's best from Saudi Arabia, Syria and Egypt will be competing with the best from the UAE to claim the title of Arab Champion for their own.
The other interesting and highly popular zone that regularly holds competitions is the Sand Sculpting Zone. This zone holds daily competitions every evening, and the winning team of each day's competition gets gold and a badge. This badge should be presented by all winning teams to take part in the final competition that will be held on the August 29.
The E-Zone, with the bank of computers, is another regular place for competitions, slightly more technology-based than other mind and hand-skill competitions. At this section, there are regular competitions with the Modhesh game, 'Modhesh and the Lost Keys'.
There is a highly interactive and entertaining competition on the Modhesh Fun City Stage that absolutely endears itself to all ages. During the show, 'Modhesh Story Time Show', children have a wonderful time helping Modhesh and his friends complete a story.
