Across the world's largest cities, WRI estimates the longest heatwave each year could last 16.3 days on average under a 1.5°C scenario, but 24.5 days at 3°C
The event will begin every night from 10pm onwards, and the Craze Makers, a special musical group from Mumbai led by Bakul Panya, will regale the crowds with the sounds Dandiya lovers crave for. Archana Mahajan and Jayesh Desai will head the vocals and promise to tantalise their audience with their performance.
In recent years, the festival celebrations organised by the Samaj have become popular among members of all ages owing to the family-oriented atmosphere it offers, and in recent years the attendance has peaked to over 5,000 per night. "Grandparents and teenagers alike feel comfortable and welcome at the Navratri Mahotsav, making it a unique experience for the whole family," Natwarlal S. Sagar, President of the organisation said. The Soni Samaj, he noted, has been organising the Navratri Mahotsav for over 40 years in Dubai and Sharjah.
The membership of more than 2,000 comprises businessmen mostly from the Gold and Jewellery sector in the UAE and their families.
All those who love Dandiya and wish to enjoy the rare atmosphere at the mahotsav are invited to celebrate with the Soni Samaj in Sharjah.
