DLC programmes to focus on women-related issues

DUBAI — The Dubai Ladies Club (DLC), member of the Dubai Establishment for Women Development, yesterday announced that the Complete Woman Programme Category B, C and D would be held on its premises in February for the age group of 22 to 60 years.

Category A was held earlier this year for the 14 to 22 years age group.

The programme launched under the patronage of Shaikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wife of Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, who is the President of the Dubai Establishment for Women Development is one of the initiatives to enable UAE women to participate actively in the development of the society. The Category B will be held for the age group of 22 to 36 years while the Category C will include women aged 36 years and above. The Category D will cater to working women belonging to both age groups.


Aznita Aziz, Operation and Business Development Manager, DLC, said, “The Complete Woman Programme is an expression of the club’s corporate social responsibilities.

“The programme’s first category evoked positive response from participants and the community. The Dubai Ladies Club received several enquiries from women seeking participation in the programme’s subsequent categories”

Registration forms will be available from tomorrow at the club’s Art and Talent Centre and the deadline for registration is on January 20.

The programme’s modules will include sessions by specialised facilitators from the UAE as well as international presenters. Ali Plowright, a UK expert, will tackle the subjects of assertiveness, emotional intelligence and adapting to changes. Dr Eman Gaad, senior lecturer in the special education section at the British University in Dubai will address the issue of community service.

UK-based Harriet Worthington will conduct a programme on psycho-social growth and leadership skills via the unique approach and technique of horse whispering. Horse whispering is a highly effective method and metaphor on self development, the first ever to be brought into the region by Dubai Ladies Club for Shaikha Manal Complete Women Programme.

The programme will also include modules on nutrition, women’s health, personal appearance, surviving skills, technology, automobile maintenance, home improvement, self defence skills and first aid.

On completion of the programme, participants will be awarded certificates.
