Outlining the progress of the project, Adel Saeed Al Shamsi, Chief Executive Officer of DHCC, said the first set of buildings to come up will include outpatient and in-patient clinics, diagnostic centres and laboratories and offices.
The buildings are being offered on both freehold and leasehold basis. The buildings are designed to target various segments of the health care industry, ranging from physicians to health insurance and pharmaceutical companies.
The state-of-the-art medical office buildings are being built to meet international medical industry standards.
Sixty per cent of space in these buildings has been reserved for physicians' clinics, day surgery centres, diagnostic, imaging and laboratory centres, health care consultants' offices, insurance company offices and pharmaceutical company offices.
"The DHCC has been meeting with leading global IT companies over the past four months, seeking to provide clients with leading health care technologies. Eventually, the DHCC will be the hub of leading technologies in the health care industry, providing health care services at par with international standards," Mr Al Shamsi said.
The first phase of the DHCC project will be complete by the summer of 2004 and construction of the university hospital and medical college will be complete by the summer of 2006.
